Completed in mid-November 2019, the solar system comprises 156 panels in a linear arrangement facing south at a local farm in Lafayette Township. Members and government officials gathered together in October for an enthusiastic ground-breaking and “panel raising” ceremony.
At membership meetings, all members assemble to discuss the operations of Sussex Solar Gardens, including membership, construction, maintenance, finances, and advertising. Currently eighteen local members own the solar system – some own only one panel and others own 25 panels. Most members purchase 5 or 10 panels to offset a portion of their current electric use.
